For a week in October (10-17) I get to go to Hawaii!! It's a family vacation and a celebration since on 12/29/09 it will be my Grandparents 30th wedding anniversary. I can't wait, it will be so exciting, especially since my Grandma has never been. I've already been taking to my friends over there asking for some advice on what to do since when we went last April (2008) we winged it. Since there will be 6 of us going, I kinda want to PLAN a bit more/better.

I already know we will be going to Germaine's Luau (we went last time and it's the best) and going on a dinner cruise on a Catamarn. I also want to spend a little more time on the North Shore and the Dole Plantation but everything in between is undecided. Too many choices... if anyone has any ideas, please feel free to suggest them. I am open! haha

Wolverine World Premiere 4/27/09
[info]green_frog
I'm kind of bummed. The Wolverine World Premiere is tomorrow night in Tempe, Arizona.... about 5 miles from my work and I cannot go! My co-worker Matt has 4 tickets and is rubbing it in my face since he know's I want to go. lol.

I also just read on Twitter that there are already 700 people camping out at the Harkins Theatre and Hugh Jackman is going to buy them coffee and bagels tomorrow morning. I love that man!

Maybe I can talk Matt into giving me a ticket tomorrow, I do know how to annoy him into things!! haha

U2 here I come!

On Friday I bought my tickets for the U2 360 tour. They are pretty much "nosebleeds" (section 433, row 8, seats 17-18) but I'm told there are no "bad" seats at University of Phoenix Stadium!

I so CANNOT wait!!

Is it' 10/20/09 yet?

Beach Boys

[info]green_frog
Last night we went to the Beach Boys concert here at Verrado. The "event" started at 2pm, with some local bands and then some other bands. We got there a little after five (we had to drive from my house which was a mile from the concert, to a parking "lot" off Interstate 10, where they then bussed us to main street) and only heard 2 bands before the Beach Boys came on. Both were fantastic, then at 8pm the Beach Boys came on and I was very happy for two reasons:

1.) I got to stand up after sitting on my ass for 3 hours (concrete kills after awhile)
2.) They are the Beach Boys

I've been a fan of their's since before I can remember. I grew up listening to their harmonies and fun lyrics. They played until 10 and for a couple (only two original members are part of it) of "old" guys, they can still put on a show. The "younger" guys in the band sound just like the originals, it was kind of eerie. I took a few pictures, but because we were far away, they aren't the greatest. I did make two videos of their songs and for being as far away as I was, you can hear them quite well.

After the concert, we hightailed it to the bus pickup and got on the 2nd bus there so we could get to our vehicle and go home. I ached from sitting on the ground for 3 hours and then standing for 2. BUT it was all worth it.

Today while at the BBQ that was thrown by our community, I overheard several people saying that the BB's sucked. I wanted to ask them what concert they went to but then I heard them complain about the food and I figure they are the type of person to complain to just complain. Stupid People.

In all, I had a blast and was so tired afterwards that I collapsed on my bed and slept until 8:30 this morning.

BEACH BOYS in concert tomorrow....

My newest obession
Sean & Nathan
[info]green_frog
So earlier this year my obsession was Kara Thrace and Lee Adama from BSG, so much so that I bought seasons 1 and 3 (not 2 or 2.5 because I couldn't find it cheap). I read a whole bunch of their fanfic and everytime BSG was on TV I had to watch it. Now my current obession is (again) John Sheppard and Elizabeth Wier from Stargate Atlantis. It was through them that I fell in love with SGA again, so much so I bought seasons 1 through 4. I'm slowling making my way through season 2, watching the episodes and then rewatching them with the commentary. It is because of this that I realise SGA isn't the same without the character Elizabeth Weir AND actress Torri Higginson.

It is also my luck that when I start to get back into a show I used to like, the shows get cancelled. At least I will have the seasons on DVD and a promised movie(s?) for SGA. I will be sad not seeing Joe Flanigan on my tv every week. Maybe he can join another show so I can oggle him? lol

Also, my love of SG-1 is coming back full force. I used to watch it on Showtime whenever we got a free preview (before it moved to Sci-Fi and before Disney was a non pay channel). I just watched Stargate Continuum and boy is Cameron Mitchell hot and boy do I love his chemistry with Samantha Carter (Amanda Tapping). BUT I do love me my Jack O'Neil... Richard Dean Anderson plays him so awesomely! lol.... I wish they could combine SGA and SG-1 and it could air FOREVER...

Now I am going back to watching COPS, man those people make me look sane!

I just bought my ticket to the greatest (hehe) upcoming concert.... New Kids on the Block. I loved them when I was younger but I wasn't old enough to ever see them in concert. Now I am.

I am in Row 45, Seat 1 (on the floor).

That weekend is going to be busy, on Saturday Oct 11th I will be in Palm Springs to watch the Suns vs. the Nuggets. Then on Monday Oct 13th I will be at the concert.

I can't wait!!!

Aloha from Arizona... BOO haha

[info]green_frog
Well, I've been home from Hawaii since 9am Tuesday 4/15/08. I went with my mother and her boyfriend (er Fiance). We were there for a week and had a blast. Below is a list of the things we did on Oahu:

* Walked about 15 million miles... lol... we probably walked 10 miles a day. We only took the bus or caught a ride a few times.

* Swam in the Pacific Ocean in Waikiki for about 4 hours on the beach on a cloudy day. Because of that we all got burned and I got sun poisoning. HeHe. We were at the beach several times but only went swimming once.

* Visited Pearl Harbor, it was a wonderful experience that I will never forget.

* Went on a Catarmaran - Dinner Cruise along the coast (Waikiki Beach). I took some great sunset pictures.

* Went to a Luau - Germaine's Luau. Absolutely fantastic. Also took a ton of sunset and ocean pictures.

* Went snorkeling along the West side of the Island. The Catamaran took us to where the west side meets the north shore. Snorkeled with Dolphins (actually I was only NEAR them, haha). Fed and swam with beautiful fish and saw sea turtles surface.

* Got to spend time with Bree. When I was little my mom was engaged to her father and they were together for a few years. I consider her family but we hadn't seen each other in 14 years. I actually need to send her some of the pictures I took!

* Found my new favorite beach, Sunset Beach (North Shore). Like Bree said, the sand is fantastic and it's hardly ever crowded.

* Visited the Dole Plantation and had some Pineapple ice cream (delicious) and I bought Mary a Dole postcard because she just LOVES them, lol.

* On the way to Hawaii got to see The Water Horse (?) and P.S. I Love you (Gerard Butler is HOT). On the way back they played The Golden Compass but since it was so late (10:30pm) I fell asleep before it was halfway done.

* Took over 500 pictures because I'm a picture whore! hehe

**** Now I want to go back!!!

Long time no see...
LoVe
[info]green_frog

Well it's been awhile since I last logged on to blog... I've been on several times to check out my favorite journals but never felt the desire to type anything.

Here is what's been happening in my life:

1. We got our house and are moved in. Only half of our garage is filled with boxes, instead of the whole garage like when we first moved in. We are slowly accessorizing the house: ceiling fans (6 so far, 2 to go), blinds (17 windows so far, 9 to go), furniture (bathroom stand, love seat, window coverings, book shelves, computer router), plants (1 tree for the backyard, more to come) and lots of flowers. (our front yard was landscaped with GRASS!

2. I had Christmas with one of my uncles, I hadn't seen him in 3 years. It was great and Christmas was a blast.

3. Went to the New Years hockey game between the Phoenix Coyotes and Colorado Avalanche (Avs lost but oh well!)

4. Got free tickets to see the Phoenix Suns play the Utah Jazz (great seats but the Suns lost)

5. My grandfather was diagnosed with Parkinson's last week, sad but at least now we know why he's been feeling like shit for MONTHS.

6. Going to Hawaii for a week starting at 4pm Monday April 7th, getting back to Phoenix 8am on Tuesday the 15th.

7. My brother Josh got a hold of me via email, I haven't talked to him since last summer. I sure do miss him, we haven't seen each other in 4+ years.

8. WORKING until I DIE!

It's almost DONE!!

We are in the process of buying a house! YES!!! The latest date the close is the 28th but we are hoping to close before then. We just have to sign some more papers with the Mortgage company and then with Pulte and it's 'done'. On the 19th I have to leave work early so we can go out there and do a walk through, we have to find all the stuff we want fixed and they will do it. I will post some pics of it after every I is dotted and T's crossed.

Here is the basics

2220 sq. ft
3 bedrooms
2 1/2 baths
Huge backyard
Family room
Formal dining room
Living room
Loft
Laundry room
2 car garage (we will have a long drive way!)
GRASS!!! (on one side and in the front)
Granite counter tops & an island (I will have tons of space to bake)
Stainless steel appliances
The first thing we are going to add to the backyard is a pool.
Pulte is going to pay our HOA's for the 1st year, which is nice

It's in a newer community on a cul–de–sac that faces a little park and has a view of the White Tank Mountains

I've started packing but I feel like I haven't accomplished anything.

I will keep up updated when anything changes!!

Baseball Fever

[info]green_frog
On Saturday I went to the Arizona Diamondbacks VS Los Angeles Dodgers game. I was excited for 4 reasons.

1. I've loved the Dodgers since I was little. I don't follow them that much but I do have a soft spot for them.

2. I LOVE Nomar Garciaparra. I'ved him since he appeared on MTV's Rock & Jock Baseball. I'ved followed him with the Red Sox, Cubs and now the Dodgers. He is also married to my favorite soccer player, Mia Hamm.

3. Luis Gonzalez. I loved him as a DBack and still as a Dodger. He does a lot for his community and he sometimes calls into my favorite radio station in Phoenix. KMLE 107.9

4. I got to see the DBacks who have been playing SO well this season. They aren't my favorite team but I've liked them since their run to win the World Series. Plus all the players are class acts.

I downloaded the free episode off of Amazon and let me tell you, this show is great. I definately will rewatch it when it premieres. Not only is it funny but right away you fall in love with the characters. Also Adam Baldwin as Agent Casey doesn't hurt either, he does have some great one liners!!

I can't wait for the new TV Season

HEROES
CHUCK   ->
seen
BIONIC WOMAN    -> seen
Dirty Sexy Money
Pushing Dasies
Ugly Betty
Men In Trees
K-Ville
Torchwood
(I've seen one episode and I'm hooked. It's not quite as cheesy as Doctor Who - which I still love)

There are several more but I can't think of them just yet.

Mexico - The Conclusion

[info]green_frog

Well we went to Nogales, Mexico and what I saw was so different from what I'm used to. It smelled, was dirty and the vendors (all were very nice) tried to get me to look in their shops. We were only there for a few hours but I couldn't wait to get home. Mostly it was due to the fact it was humid/hot and I only had a few hours of sleep the night before. Next time we go to Mexico it will be to Rocky Point and with a bunch of people. That way we can rent a house and have lots of fun.

I wanted to take a picture of a "Welcome to Mexico" sign as we entered because I thought we were going to drive in but we parked on the US side and walked across the border. It was fast and easy getting in but we had to wait in line for 30 minutes to leave. The Border Patrol Officer who checked my driver license wanted to know where Ahwatukee is (where I live) and I had to tell him was a suburb of Phoenix. He had never heard of it. I told him, I had a first time experience and so did he. He laughed. LOL.

Here is a pic of Nogales on the US side:
